Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. provides foster care services for children and their families as part of the larger Department of Human Services/Juvenile Court system service plan. Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic's role is to support children in placement through the provision of specific services. Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. strives to ensure that timely services occur for the child and family, family contact is maintained and enhanced, all possible permanency options are identified, and service activities and goals are monitored and evaluated regularly.
Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. works with the placing entity to ensure that prior to non-relative placements, all relative options are explored. Attempts will be made to place each child in the least restrictive environment that would support the child's cultural and linguistic needs, and maintain the child's current school placement, if possible.
Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic's role is to support, assess, and engage the family in the treatment of each child by developing a treatment plan in conjunction with a collaborative treatment team. Treatment is designed to address the child and family's unique strengths and needs. Planning involves collaboration and participation of the child, the child's biological parents, foster parents or kinship caregivers, siblings, extended family, and others important to the child's well being, as deemed appropriate.
