Mid-Iowa Family Therapy, Inc. facilitates and provides support for Polk County Model Court as a service to the community. Model Court is a national program that matches current attorney's with groups who are interested in or have a need to be aware of what happens in a court room. Model Court meets the second Thursday of each month at the Polk County Courthouse in Courtroom #108. The meetings start at 12:10 p.m. and usually run no longer than an hour. The Model Court meetings are open to the public.

The Model Court Training Academy meets the third Thursday of every month (except June). The location is the Polk County Courthouse beginning at 12:00 p.m. for one hour. The primary audience for the Model Court Training Academy is attorneys who are awarded Continuing Education credits for participating. Social Workers and other community members also often attend this training to be better prepared for a courtroom experience.
